Renewing historic architecture for contemporary use

The red brick Uusimaa Barracks were originally built for the sniper battalion. National Defence University operated in the Barracks for 60 years in the 1900s. The MilitaryMuseum was established there as well, from where it moved back to the world heritage site Suomenlinna in 2019. HGR Property Partners acquired the Uusimaa Barracks in 2022.

HGR Property Partners and other stakeholders of the project have signed a sustainable construction agreement ensuring fair treatment of all parties throughout the supply chain, as well as the implementation of ethical business practices. HGR is committed to sustainability reporting, enabling transparent monitoring of the project and making informed, data-driven decisions.
